Set near Trout Lake and the community centre, this character retention project adds gentle density to a varied East Vancouver streetscape while keeping the original home as the public face of the site. The existing gabled house is preserved and refreshed with a modest addition that respects its familiar porch, bay window, and Craftsman proportions, allowing the building to be reimagined as three compact homes with improved livability and daylight.

At the rear, a new infill dwelling introduces a contemporary counterpart with a strong roof form, warm soffits, and a generous upper terrace that extends living outdoors. Together, the retained home and the infill frame layered outdoor spaces and clear entries, balancing privacy with openness on a tight urban lot.
